"Research Assistant Professor in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute, the School of Public Health"

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute, the School of Public Health (Ref.: 533598), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in biological/medical sciences or related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experience in virology, microbiology and/or immunology. Prior experience in conducting flow cytometry would be desirable, in addition to measurement of neutralising antibody responses following infection or vaccination. They should have a strong quantitative and qualitative background; a proven research track record; excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese; and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The appointee will be responsible for a project funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and applicants with experience in handling trust-initiated/foundation-funded projects will be highly desirable.

The appointee will be responsible for leading studies on immunological responses triggered by vaccination and viral infection. He/she will be expected to take a leading role in overseeing research projects and supervising junior research staff.
