Research Assistant Professor, Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics
The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for non tenure track appointment as Research Assistant Professor, for a three year renewable term. The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming. This is a benefits-eligible position.
The Research Assistant Professor is primarily an independent researcher conducting original research within economics and is expected to stand alone on their scholarly accomplishments, solo- and co-authoring reputable scientific publications. Appointees are expected to make a substantial contribution to that research and may be part of a research group or in association with a faculty member. Appointees are expected to actively interact with a substantial number of faculty and students and regularly participate in academic conferences and workshops. The Research Assistant Professor is expected to have an active role in obtaining and carrying out funded research and serve as a Co-Investigator or Principal Investigator on research grants. Applicants with demonstrated ability to communicate research findings clearly to audiences through oral presentations and written work are strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field.
