Research Assistant Sleep & Cognition - Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience
Job Summary: Assist in the research project "Stress-free Awakening," which studies how sleep influences the processing of negative emotions. Participants sleep for five nights in a sleep laboratory, where brain activity (EEG) and stress levels are measured through tasks in the evening and morning.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with data collection on Mondays and Thursdays, including evenings and early mornings.
- Screen, receive, and guide participants.
- Perform psychological experiments and measure physiological stress responses.
- Assist in collecting sleep data, such as EEG.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Fluent in Dutch.
- Flexible and willing to work evenings and mornings.
- Social, customer-oriented, and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and enjoy working in a team.
- Background in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. Experience with EEG is not necessary.
What the Employer Offers:
- Temporary contract for 1 year.
- Salary between €3,004 and €3,465 gross per month for full-time employment, depending on education and experience.
- Additional benefits include 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, travel allowance, internet and home working allowance, and pension build-up with ABP.
- Option to increase vacation days from 29 to 41 per year by working extra hours.
