Research Associate (Adaptive Urban Planning)
Job Description
- Develop and support urban coastal planning scenarios.
- Collect, organise, and analyse multi-source information, including quantitative datasets and qualitative materials (e.g. planning documents, reports, maps, interviews).
- Conduct case studies related to coastal adaptation.
- Produce clear visualisations (maps, diagrams, timelines, and graphics) to communicate research findings.
- Support research documentation and writing for reports, presentations, and publications.
- Collaborate with team members across planning, engineering, and policy domains.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in urban planning, urban design, architecture, geography, or a related design or built-environment discipline and with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience, and good knowledge, skills and expertise in relevant field.
- Strong ability to collect, synthesise, and analyse information from diverse sources.
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools such as QGIS and Adobe Suite.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
- Interest or prior knowledge in coastal planning, climate adaptation, or water-related infrastructure is an advantage.
