Research Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating a project aiming at addressing health disparities across Georgia and in managing and maintaining our hematological malignancies registry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and improve patient outcomes in the field of hematology and other malignancies.
*This position requires traveling. It may also require overnight travel.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Study Coordination:
Coordinate research studies aiming at addressing the access of women living in rural areas of Georgia and South Carolina to breast and cervical cancer screenings. Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met according to the study plan. Communicate effectively with external partners, including patients, healthcare providers, research institutions, and funding agencies.
Travel and Data Collection:
Travel to the target areas to coordinate, monitor and execute survey patients participating in the breast and/or cervical cancer screening program. It may require overnight travel.
Data Collection and Database Management:
Accurately collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database. Maintain and update the registry database, ensuring data integrity and security.
Data Analysis:
Assist in the analysis of registry data to identify trends, patterns, and research opportunities.
Protocol Development:
Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols and standard operating procedures. Generate protocols for clinical research and submit them to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Scientific Writing:
Assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, meeting abstracts, grant proposals and funding applications to support research initiatives.
Other:
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of one year of clinical research and/or clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in clinical research, data management, or registry management, preferably in the field of hematology or oncology. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality data standards. Experience with Hematological Malignancies: Specific experience working with hematological malignancies or related registries. Experience with human subjects training in a clinical research capacity or setting. Experience in a clinical and/or research setting working with patients.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position). Pay Band: B8. Salary Range: $45,400/annually - $50,000/annually. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: 10/8/25 - Until Filled.
