Job Overview

One full-time staff position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Kasper in the Department of Environmental & Public Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati.

The Kasper Laboratory integrates human primary cancer cell culture, cancer stem cell biology, mouse xenograft models, and most recently extracellular vesicles in collaboration with Dr. Somchai Chutipongtanate with multiomics technologies and bioinformatics to investigate mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and metastasis. A leading focus is on mechanisms that drive cancer cell growth and metastasis, in particular cancer cell/tumor microenvironment interactions that regulate these processes via signals carried by extracellular vesicles, and to establish prognostic and predictive biomarkers of metastasis. Additional information or questions regarding the project can be obtained by email at susan.kasper@uc.edu

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly self-motivated candidate who can work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Candidates with a strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics are encouraged to apply. This position involves a focus on secretomes and extracellular vesicles, single-cell sequencing analysis, and investigating the molecular mechanisms of prostate cancer metastasis and its interaction with stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment.

Essential Functions

  • Significant skills in assays for flow cytometry, Image stream, bioassays, cellular transfections, primary cell culture from clinical biopsy samples, bioinformatics, including single-cell or spatial sequencing analyses.
