Job Overview
The Ohio Cyber Range Institute is seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Associate to support its cybersecurity education programs. This role is pivotal in advancing the institute's mission to provide cutting-edge cybersecurity education, research, and resources. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the cyber library, student portfolio, and cybersecurity programming throughout the state.
This is a grant-funded position; the continuation of this position will be based on the availability of funds and the continuation of the grant. This position is 100% on-site but may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option once training is complete.
Essential Functions
- Portfolio Support: Support the integration of OCRI programming and efforts into portfolio records. Support the use of a portfolio of cybersecurity educational resources and tools. Develop evaluations and assessments for portfolio artifacts.
- Cybersecurity Library Support: Evaluate cybersecurity curricular materials. Develop assessments for cybersecurity education curriculum and programs. Develop training and programming to expand the use and quality of the cybersecurity library.
- Educational Program Support: Support the development of OCRI educational programs such as capture the flag events and bootcamps. Develop assessments and credentials for OCRI educational programs. Collect, interpret, and report assessment data to leadership.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree. Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of relevant experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Education, or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity curriculum development or a related field, with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Experience with academic assessment, program evaluation, or educational research.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders.
