The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) at the National University of Singapore conducts independent research and analysis to advance the understanding of energy policy issues. We are seeking researchers to join a multi-disciplinary team carrying out research projects on a range of energy issues relevant to Singapore and the region.
Job Description
- Conduct technical and policy reviews of the global energy and decarbonization landscape through desk research, including low-carbon technology development and green energy supply chains.
- Support Research Fellows in conducting energy, environmental and system-level decarbonization analysis, including energy technology assessment, emissions monitoring, decarbonization pathways and energy systems optimization for the country and Asian region.
- Participate in engagements with stakeholders.
- Perform administrative duties, including organising seminars, workshops, and conferences, and undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Division or Principal Investigator.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in engineering, energy systems modelling, sustainability, economics, management science or other related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of and interest in energy and environmental issues, decarbonisation strategies, and energy security.
- Good knowledge of data analysis tools such as Python, Matlab, Stata, etc.
- Relevant research experience in life cycle assessment, emissions accounting, energy systems modelling would be highly preferred.
- Experience in energy markets, techno-economic analysis or power sector modelling would be an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
