Job Overview
The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Research Associate in Dr. Miller-Handley's lab.
Essential Functions
- Design and execute experimental studies to characterize immune responses to allograft transplantation and infection, by employing flow cytometry, transplantation surgery in animal models, and molecular analyses.
- Under supervision, manage laboratory animal husbandry, including breeding programs, animal welfare monitoring, and assistance with routine animal procedures in compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
- Assist in training graduate students and junior trainees in laboratory protocols.
- Actively participate in laboratory meetings, presentations, and publications.
- Assists in daily operations of laboratory including answering phone, maintaining lab supplies, organization, and cleanliness.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Zoology, or a related field.
