The Sawarkar lab at the MRC Toxicology Unit is looking to appoint a Research Associate to contribute to its programme on Neurodegeneration. The project will use state-of-the-art genomic technologies to identify therapeutics that improve neuronal survival under protein misfolding stress. For further details, please see Leone et al (2024) Mol Cell and Rawat et al (2021) Mol Cell.
Your role will be to support the research activities of the group within the remit of the ERC Proof Of Concept programme at the frontiers of molecular bioscience.
Candidates must have significant proven skills in a molecular cell biology lab (library prep work for novel sequencing technologies, Genomic contact mapping, mouse genotyping, knock-out generation in cell cultures, experience with tRNA work and sequencing of tRNA) and an understanding of RNA expression analyses. A Degree in Molecular biology/ life sciences or related areas is essential.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
