The Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge, seeks a Research Associate to join the Novo Nordisk Foundation-funded iso-eDNA project. The post-holder will investigate trophic relationships and large herbivore-vegetation interactions in Arctic tundra ecosystems, with particular emphasis on caribou and muskox in West Greenland and reindeer in Svalbard.

Working with collaborators at the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, the University of Copenhagen and the University of Eastern Finland, the successful candidate will analyse stable isotope data from contemporary and ancient ecological samples, contribute to fieldwork in Greenland, and lead or support publications and project outputs.

Applicants should hold a relevant PhD and have experience in stable isotope ecology, quantitative ecological analysis, and collaborative research. Experience in Arctic or other cold-region systems, large-herbivore ecology, palaeoecology or molecular ecology is desirable.

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 18 months, based in Cambridge, with research stays and fieldwork in Greenland.
