Research Associate for Next Generation Batteries, Kalra Lab

Prof. Vibha Kalra’s research group at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA) is seeking applicants for a research associate position on “Next Generation Batteries”. The project(s) will involve material development for next generation batteries, advanced electrochemical, spectroscopic, and microscopic characterizations (including in-situ/in-operando). Prior experience in solid state synthesis/electrolytes, and Li-ion cathodes is a plus. Research responsibilities include the following: (1) designing hypothesis-driven research projects and successfully carrying out the proposed research in a collaborative environment, (2) writing and contributing to journal articles and presenting at academic and professional conferences; (3) collaboratively mentoring postdocs and students with the PI (4) developing and assisting with research proposals; and (5) helping in advancing the strategic vision of Kalra Lab.

**Qualifications**

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related field.
  • Strong background in batteries.
  • Experience with different characterization techniques.
  • Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Experience with assisting in or writing proposals in a plus.

**Pay Range:**

The range for this position is $49,100 - $94,700 annually.
