Organization Profile: National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. Job Title: Research Associate – I, Project Assistant, Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Employment Type: Temporary Basis

Project Titles:

• Project Assistant: “Ultrathin 2D Nanomaterials Based Biosensor for Multiplexed Detection of Breast Cancer Biomarkers” (funded under Department of Science and Technology (DST)-INSPIRE faculty scheme).
• Project Assistant: “Integrated Information System to Interpret, Integrate and mitigation of cardio metabolic health care in North east tribes of Assam and Mizoram” (funded by ICMR).
• JRF: DST SERB (SRG) sponsored two (02) years project entitled ‘Investigating the interplay of Kidney-Heart inflammatory axis and the role of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC 6) signaling in chronic kidney disease’.

Qualification & Experience:

• Research Associate – I: Essential: Ph.D. in Life Science or M.S./ M. Pharm./ M.Tech. with 3 years of research, teaching experience with 55% marks and at least one research publication in SCI indexed Journal. GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any central Govt. department is essential for candidate with Post graduation. Desirable: Should have experience on herbal molecules. Person with expertise on anti-malarial activity will be given preference.
• Project Assistant: Essential: M.Sc./ B.Tech in Biomedical/ Nanotechnology/ Material Science/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Chemical engineering/ Electronics or relevant field. Desirable: Should have exposure to biosensors and/or microfluidics technique.
• JRF: Essential: Postgraduate degree [M.S. (Pharm)/M. Pharm] in Pharmacology and Toxicology with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any central Govt. department is essential for candidates with a Master degree. Desirable: Experience in handling of laboratory animals and hands on experience in surgery model to induce disease model. Experience in handling of mammalian cell culture and different molecular biology techniques (Western blot, ELISA, qRT-PCR and FACS). Candidates with at least one publication in SCI indexed journals will be preferred.

Pay Scale: Research Associate – I: Rs. 47,000/- + 16% HRA (if applicable); Project Assistant: Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated) or Rs. 31,000/- per month (consolidated); JRF: Rs. 31,000/- per month (consolidated)
