What you would be doing
Your main responsibility will be to design, commission and operate a prototype experimental device for capturing carbon dioxide from air. You will use this prototype to characterise the performance of various sorbents and sorbent contactors, alongside a comprehensive programme of validation studies. You will also apply, and adapt where necessary, numerical methods for interpretation of the generated data sets and to assess process performance.
What we are looking for
The key requirement for the post is a proven track record in adsorption fundamentals and adsorption processes, including the design and operation of experimental equipment for adsorption research and the modelling of adsorption systems.

Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have not yet been officially awarded will be appointed as a Research Assistant.
You can start immediately and ideally no later than by 1 October 2026.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week).
This role is for a fixed-term contract for 24 months.
