We seek a post-doctoral research scientist to work on a project, funded by the Medical Research Council, to study the regulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. NLRP3-dependent inflammation is implicated in disease and through understanding the fundamental mechanisms of its regulation we hope to identify new ways of targeting inflammation. The successful candidate will join the lab of Prof. David Brough and work closely alongside the labs of Prof. Martin Lowe and Prof. Kevin Couper based in FBMH.
The successful candidate will have (or expect to hold shortly) a PhD with a strong background in cell biology, immunology and, ideally, neuroscience. The candidate must have excellent technical skills in cell and molecular biology, microscopy, flow cytometry, and have experience of working with murine models, preferably models of inflammation. Training will be available in all areas of the project.
This full-time post is for up to 36 months, with an anticipated start date of the 1st of April 2026.
