The Adam Smith Business School is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to the UKRI REACT: Responsible Electronics and Circular Technologies Centre, a 4-year EPSRC-funded project.

The post holder will focus on integrating responsible innovation principles into the management, technology development, and commercialisation of circular electronics. The successful candidate will investigate sustainable business models, responsible innovation practices, and socio-economic-technological factors influencing the adoption of digitally enabled circular innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting research on sustainable and responsible business models and commercialisation strategies.
• Engaging with stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and case studies.
• Mapping sustainable electronics value chains and routes to market.
• Contributing to high-quality publications and funding proposals.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with leading researchers across multiple universities and industry partners to shape the future of sustainable electronics.

The research will explore the adoption and commercialisation of circular electronics through literature reviews, stakeholder engagement, and co-creation workshops. It will map sustainable value chains, design responsible business models, and develop strategies to overcome social, regulatory, and economic barriers to sustainability. The work will also create real-world cases and commercialisation pathways to support the transition to responsible, circular innovation in the electronics sector.

The post holder will make a leading contribution to research objectives in accordance with relevant research project(s) within the subject specialism. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in the area of Innovation, Business Models, Commercialisation. You will contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals and help manage and direct complex and challenging project(s) as opportunities allow.
