Position Overview:
The University of Liverpool is seeking a Research Associate to join a collaborative project with teams from the Institute of Cancer Research, University of Aberdeen, and the South African Medical Research Council. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and aims to reduce the environmental impact of clinical trials while ensuring their success. The Liverpool team will identify research gaps related to carbon footprinting and evaluate evidence-based mitigation strategies to reduce known environmental hotspots in clinical trials. The postholder will join the TMRP Greener Trials Group and collaborate with international teams to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Data Analysis: Identify research gaps related to the carbon footprint of clinical trials and appraise evidence-based mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration: Work with international teams to reduce the environmental impact of clinical trials, while ensuring their success.
- Contribution to the Greener Trials Group: Engage with the TMRP Greener Trials Group and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- A first degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant area.
- Relevant experience in conducting qualitative or quantitative research, including data collection and data analysis.
- Work experience in some aspect of clinical trials (design, conduct, or analysis).
