Research Associate in ultracold atoms (Fixed Term)
We are looking for a Research Associate in experimental many-body physics with ultracold atoms. Applicants should have significant experimental expertise in working with ultracold atoms in optical lattices, ideally complex lattice structures.
The role is funded partly by the EPSRC-funded QQQS programme grant. The role holder will, together with a team of PDRAs, PhD students and undergraduates, design and carry out experimental investigations in many-body physics with ultracold atoms in and out of optical lattices and contribute to the further development of our experimental setups.
Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in physics or a related field. Appointment at research associate is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed at research assistant level and progress to research associate once the PhD is awarded.
The successful candidate will be based at the Cavendish Laboratory, JJ Thomson Avenue, Cambridge CB3 0US, under the supervision of Professor Ulrich Schneider.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
