Job Description:

• Contribute to research in free-space optical communication, specifically optimised for operations within maritime environments.
• Join a cutting-edge research group developing advanced photonic systems for astronomy, space science, and national security.
• Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 1 year.
• Base salary: $112,371 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the opportunity

• Contribute to small research team conducting research on free-space optical communication, specifically optimised for operations within maritime environments.
• Work within a UWA small team and contribute to collaborations with project partner organisations including industry, government, and defence.
• Conduct technical work including laboratory experiments and hardware development, software and algorithm development, optical communications development, and assist with maritime and airborne field trials.
