About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Research Associate / Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biostatistics to join a team of researchers, under the supervision of Chief Investigators Prof. Gemma Figtree and Prof. Jean Yang. The successful applicant will also be part of the Sydney Precision Data Science Centre and School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Your key responsibilities will be to work independently and as part of a team to conduct data analysis on large-scale biomedical and/or clinical datasets, publish research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.

About you

• demonstrated strong biostatistics or statistical genetics background
• proven data analysis experience
• demonstrated ability to conduct research / scholarly activities under limited supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary research team
• good organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
• superior computer programming or software development skills
• good communication skills (both written and oral)
