Applications are invited for appointments as Research Associate / Research Assistant (AI-Powered Analytic Tools) (Ref.: H01/2025/111) for innovative research projects in the theme of Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science Park.
Job Description
- Conduct laboratory experiments related to nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and biosensors.
- Prepare chemical and biological solutions in sub-molar concentrations with high precision.
- Perform micro-pipetting (µL range) and other precise liquid handling techniques.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
- Summarize research findings in written reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to research discussions.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
- Assist in ordering lab supplies and maintaining equipment.
- Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Strong background and interest in analytical chemistry and nanomaterials.
- Proficiency in chemical solution preparation, pipetting, and lab instrumentation.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong practical experience in standard laboratory operations is highly preferred.
- Prior research experience in electrochemical biosensors (surface modification, nanomaterials synthesis, or biofunctionalization).
- Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., Origin, MATLAB, Python).
