Research Associate (Robotics Planning and Control)
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to lead the development of cutting-edge energy efficient underwater navigation systems. The successful candidate will conduct advanced research in localization algorithms, spearhead energy-aware navigation planning systems development, and oversee real world validation of underwater navigation technologies while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research and development of energy efficient navigation systems for underwater vehicles
- Design and implement advanced underwater navigation algorithms and frameworks
- Develop comprehensive simulation environments and establish testing protocols
- Conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of navigation system performance for energy consumption and accuracy
- Supervise and mentor research engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Author high-quality research publications and technical reports
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with robot planning algorithms and control systems
- Research experience of at least three years, even during Master or PhD program, including skills for paper preparation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Familiarity with underwater robots, sensors (DVL, sonar) and simulation environments will be an added advantage
