"Research Associate- Vascular Biology Center"

Job Summary

The Research Associate performs advanced administrative and technical work in support of on-going research projects: Perform day to day lab research lab operations including Mouse handling, genotyping and colony maintenance; qRT-PCR and western blotting; Tissue collection.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collection: Cell culture and mouse tissue collection.
• Assays: Molecular biology assays of cultured cells and tissue; Western blot, qRTPCR.
• Tissue: Tissue collection and histology.
• Data: Data analysis and recordkeeping.
• Other Duties: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory or clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience: Knowledge of cell culture, mouse tissue collection and molecular and cellular techniques.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn. SKILLS: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills. ABILITIES: Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness and ability to work with research animals. Ability to work independently with only general supervision; complete work and meet deadlines.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required). Salary Minimum: $45,400. Pay Band: B8. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: Until Filled.
