Overview The Research Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of TrialNet clinical trials, as well as other clinical studies in the type 1 diabetes population for the Pediatrics Diabetes research team. This will include, study performance, regulatory documents, database management, maintenance and entry. The coordinator will be integral in the recruitment, management, scheduling and follow-up with families involved in research studies. The coordinator will work within a highly collaborative team to complete studies to advance care for patients.  Required Skills and Abilities 1. Prior experience with clinical trials, with demonstrated ability to function as a collaborative member of a clinical research team and communicate well with participants and families.  2. Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. 3. Ability to travel between Yale School of Medicine and affiliated clinical or research sites as needed. 4. Demonstrated experience solving problems, taking initiative, and working independently. Excellence in working with patients or customers. Strong verbal and written communication. Preferred Skills and Abilities 1. Proven experience with use of electronic medical records for research including eligibility screening based on inclusion/exclusion criteria and critical evaluation of patient information, and data extraction for study purposes. 2. Proven experience with managing regulatory documents. 3. Demonstrated work experience with IRB processes and amendments. 4. Phlebotomy certification; Bilingual in Spanish and English; willingness to become certified in medical interpretation for Spanish speaking individuals; prior experience with data collection and database management. 5. Proven experience working with children or adolescents. Principal Responsibilities 1. Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices. 3. Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk. 4. Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials. 5. Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary. 6. Develops, oversees and monitors budgets. 7. Develops and maintains specialized training. 8.
