Research Data Management Specialist
Job Description:
- A specialist new position supporting AUT researchers throughout the research lifecycle, promoting best practice in data management, storage, sharing, and preservation
- Help establish AUT Library’s research data management services and the Tuwhera Research Data repository

- Permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours) based at AUT's City Campus

The position is based in Te Mātāpuna Library and Learning Services.
The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person for an innovative and rewarding new role in our Research Services team, supporting the Library’s emerging research data management services and data repository. In this position you will:
- contribute to the establishment and management of the Tuwhera Research Data Repository and associated research data management services
- support the uptake and support of good research data management practices across the University
- be a part of a team of research and scholarly communications librarians delivering support to a diverse research community, informed by Te Tiriti values and aspirations.
As part of the Research Services team you can help us deliver on our goal of providing agile, inclusive and forward-thinking support to AUT’s postgraduate and staff research communities.
This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be based at our City Campus but may need to work at our other campuses from time to time.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a relevant recognised undergraduate degree
- 3 years relevant professional experience
- good knowledge of research data management and the application of metadata schema for research data
- great communication and interpersonal skills, curiosity and a desire to learn
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori Data Sovereignty in a research context, or willingness to learn

- Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: $76,000 - $102,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
