"Research Engineer (Optical Bioimaging)"

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Engineer to join the Optical Bioimaging Lab at National University of Singapore. The candidates will be primarily responsible for developing the user interface for an advanced light-sheet microscopy system.

The role involves the development of software for system control, image acquisition, image processing, and image rendering. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to high-impact research and industry projects aimed at enhancing imaging speed, resolution, and stability.

Job Description

• Assist to develop instrument control and imaging software for real-time operation and data acquisition.
• Assist the team in system calibration, benchmarking, and iterative refinement based on user feedback and test data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including industry partners, biomedical researchers, and engineers, to define requirements and ensure deliverable quality.
• Contribute to scientific publications, patent applications, and conference presentations.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor or master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
• Skilled in MATLAB/LabVIEW/Python programming for instrument control, image acquisition and processing.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
