Job Description
Augmented Human Lab, at the Smart Systems Institute, National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant with expertise in Prototyping (in hardware, software and digital) interfaces & interactions to design novel Human Computer Interaction.
As a Research Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our research initiatives by prototyping & testing novel human computer interfaces & interactions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and scientists in various projects.
Major responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive user research to understand user needs, and market demands.
- Analyse competitor products, business models, and market positioning to identify gaps, threats, and opportunities.
- Gather insights into target customer segments and identify potential opportunities for AiSee
- Connect with external partners and stakeholders to field test AiSee.
- Collaborate with the internal teams (Software, Hardware, AI, etc) to define the AiSee roadmap and align product features with business objectives.
- Help prioritize product features and ensure that they address critical user needs and opportunities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data analyses for internal and external meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree for a reputed university
- At least 6 years of working experience
- Experience software tools such as
- C/C++ (openFrameworks), Python, Swift, Java
- Programming IDE & Target Platforms: VS Code, Visual Studio, , Xcode, homebrew, CocoaPods, PyCharm, Android Studio, ADB command line tools, eclipse
- Experience hardware design tools such as
- Target platforms: Arduino (AVR ATmega, nRF51/52, ESP8266/ESP32),SuperH/H8 Tiny, MCP430, Raspberry Pi, Electric Imp
- Design tools: Makerbot 3D printing tools, Autodesk Eagle, KiCad (circuit board design tool)
- Experience Graphics tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Luma Fusion
- Good understanding product development workflows.
- Good understanding and hands-on experience in following areas:
- User study design for Human Computer interaction projects
- Experience with wearable devices
- In addition the candidate should be a team player and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Following skills will be an added advantage
- Experience in Virtualisation Environments such as Docker, VMWare Desktop, VirtualBox, RealVNC, Google.
- Experience in Cloud Computing Platforms such as AWS Lambda, Oracle Cloud, IBM Watson, Google Firebase.
- Experience in prototyping with Sound Design tools such as Audacity, Ableton Live, Pure Data, Spitfire Audio.
