Organization Profile: The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961 in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, The Ford Foundation and Indian industry. During its initial years, several prominent faculty formed part of its nucleus, including Jagdish Sheth, J. K. Sengupta, among others.

Job Title: Research Executive

Employment Type: Full-time, one post

Qualification: The candidate should have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree programme or possess at least a Master’s degree from a reputed institute with a minimum of aggregate 60% marks at both the graduation/ Master’s level. An interest in research related to carbon transition is desirable. While not mandatory, a prior exposure to conducting research and drafting of research reports is desirable.

Centre: The Centre for Development of Environment and Policy (CDEP), IIM Calcutta

Nature of Job: Annual, fixed-term contract, renewable. At present, the project is for a duration of 1 year with the possibility of an extension of at least one more year.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes: English Language — Excellent command over written English with an ability to generate high-quality scientific report or research articles. Critical Thinking — Display an ability to analyse, comprehend and identify underlying principle or pattern. Computer and Software Skills — Qualitative data analysis (Nvivo/Atlas-Ti), Quantitative data analysis (MS-Excel/IBM-SPSS/R/Python) is desirable.

Pay Scale: 45,000 – 50,000 INR per month
