Job Description
The Department of Architecture at NUS invites applications for positions in an interdisciplinary research project on urban landscape representation. Successful candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative team working on large-scale, externally funded research addressing pressing urban challenges in Singapore and beyond. The research fellow is expected to join at the beginning of 2027. The position is a one-year appointment and might be renewed up to 3 years based on the performance and career plan of the hired person.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D urban landscape representations using point cloud processing, segmentation, and Gaussian Splatting.
- Develop AI-based image and video analysis workflows for object detection, recognition, and tracking.
- Support project coordination and delivery.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong experience in point cloud processing, LiDAR, 3D reconstruction, and Gaussian Splatting.
- Experience in computer vision, including YOLO-based object detection and real-time object tracking.
- Preferred experience in design tool development and visualization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
