Research Fellow (Advanced construction and sustainability)

Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a postdoctoral Research Fellow position in advanced construction and sustainability. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Asst Prof Meng Xin from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
This position is part of an exciting research programme aimed at advancing the strategic adoption of metal additive manufacturing in construction for decarbonisation.

The Research Fellow is expected to:

  • Conduct novel and impactful research in the areas of life-cycle carbon and cost analysis, 3D printed hybrid structural systems, and construction sustainability.
  • Disseminate research findings through high-quality journal papers and presentations at international conferences.
  • Support the supervision and mentoring of PhD students.
  • Contribute to teaching, funding applications, and outreach activities.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a PhD in civil engineering.
  • Demonstrates a strong background in civil engineering research and publications.
  • Must have expertise in structural design and life-cycle carbon and cost analysis.
  • Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferably with knowledge of metal 3D printing and hybrid construction.
  • Preferably with knowledge and skills in AI.
  • Open to fixed-term contract.
