Research Fellow (Batteries)
Job Description
- Synthesize 3D nanofiber networks using electrospinning technology.
- Fabricate ultrathin, lightweight ceramic-in-polymer composite membranes for high-performance solid-state batteries.
- Synthesis and characterization of nanocarbon/sulfur composite cathodes for Li-ion batteries
- Characterize and optimize the freestanding membrane-based electrolytes specifically for Li-ion battery applications.
- Fabricate coin cells for Lithium-ion batteries using both liquid and solid electrolytes.
- Assembly and electrochemical characterization of pouch cell prototype.
- Analyze cell failure mechanisms and perform root cause analysis. Develop mitigation plans to ensure long-term battery stability and performance
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in the area of electrochemistry, nanotechnology and materials science
- Minimum 1 year experience in lithium batteries
- Experience in fabrication of Li-based batteries in coin cell and pouch cell level
- In-depth knowledge in electrochemistry, electrochemical techniques (CV, LSV, EIS etc), batteries and polymer electrolytes. Good knowledge in nanotechnology, carbon nanocomposites, materials science are also desired.
- Experience in synthesis nanomaterials and nanocomposites for designing cathodes for Li-S batteries.
- Experience in handling analytical instruments (e.g. FESEM, XRD, TGA, Viscometer etc.)
