Job Description
The successful candidate will work with A/P Darren Yeo Chong Jinn on eDNA under a project titled “Optimising environmental DNA approaches for detection and monitoring of forest streams and freshwater swamp diversity”.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Field and lab work required for the project
- Data analyses and report preparation
- Dissemination of findings via publications and presentations
- Project management and procurement
Qualifications
PhD in Ecology and/or Life Science or equivalent.
Skills:
- Research skills including statistical and analytic skills is essential
- Excellent writing abilities are desirable
- Physically fit for fieldwork in tropical freshwater environment
- Independence, but also able to work well with others in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Leadership qualities and independence, while able to lead and/or work well with others in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
Experience:
- Prior experience in aquatic field research and molecular biology
