Research Fellow (Coastal Engineering)
Job Description
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of Coastal Engineering. The candidate is expected to work in investigating multi-phase hydrodynamic interactions, and turbulence modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
The scope can also include:
- Investigating turbulence dynamics and coherent flow structures induced by extensive marine infrastructure coverage.
- Experimental measurements and corresponding numerical simulations using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique of Large Eddy Simulations.
- Assessment of structural stability and environmental impacts associated with coastal protection measures.
- Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
- Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.
Job Requirements
- Applicants should have a PhD in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Preferably with a few years of relevant experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling with Large Eddy Simulations involving engineering applications in both atmospheric and coastal water environments.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Open to fixed-term contract.
