Job Description
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Fellow position in coastal engineering research. The candidate is expected to work in investigating the multi-objective performance of coastal protection structures as well as the use of data and imagery to monitor the coastal environment.
Responsibilities can include:
- Investigate the multi-objective hydrodynamic performance and wave structure interactions of coastal infrastructure.
- Design and conduct physical experiments as well as analytical and numerical modelling.
- Conduct field experiments in the coastal environment to collect good quality data.
- Develop custom software for data integration and visualization of simulation outputs.
- Summarize research findings in high-quality research presentation and reports.
Job Requirements
- Applicants should have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong interest in research work, field surveys, and site supervision.
- Experience in analytical model development for coastal structures.
- Experience in simulations and assessment of multi-objective hydrodynamic performance and wave structure interactions of coastal infrastructure.
- Strong written and spoken communication.
- Open to a fixed-term contract.
