The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery, Neurotrauma Division is seeking a Research Fellow. The Research Fellow will work under the supervision of a professional mentor who is responsible for the Fellow’s fiscal and intellectual activities. The purpose of the Research Fellowship is to gain understanding and advanced knowledge of clinical research methods, application of the theoretical knowledge from academic training, and to gain career / professional development to advance towards becoming a Neurotrauma expert.
Essential Functions
- Assist in translational neurosurgical-focused research projects.
- Independently perform research studies and record data according to research protocols.
- Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
- Collection of clinical performance improvement and research data in neurotrauma clinics
- Participate in Post Acute Care Clinic for TBI administrative and research meetings
- Apply research principals for complex assignments.
- Ensure compliance with contract principles, federal regulations, laws and University of Cincinnati (UC)/University of Cincinnati Physicians Company (UCPC) policy and operating procedures.
- Maintain regulatory documentation.
- Liaison with research staff, clinic providers, university departments, ancillary departments, and research collaborators
- Synthesize experimental findings by writing presentations and manuscripts
- Disseminate findings at conferences and in publications
- Perform related duties based on Neurotrauma Division need.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.
Required Experience
Experience with patient interactions and clinical research projects.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Medical school training / experience (MD or DO) with opportunity to obtain OH medical license preferred.
