Job Description
We are currently seeking candidates for research fellow. Our research group focuses on robotic scanning and building information modelling (BIM) technologies. We are interested in integration of LiDAR, image-based sensing, and semantic AI algorithms with mobile robotic platforms for automated 3D scanning of the built environment, followed by high-precision 3D BIM reconstruction and semantic enrichment for legacy buildings or infrastructures.
Qualifications
The candidate should have
- A PhD degree with relevant background and knowledge in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with LiDAR, computer vision, or SLAM for 3D reconstruction.
- Skills in 3D perception, semantic instance segmentation, mapping, and/or robot navigation.
- Strong programming ability and familiarity with Linux; experience in ML/DL.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications.
Appointed candidates will support research planning and execution, including conducting research, analysing results, and preparing reports and papers. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
Interested applicants are invited to submit their CV to Assistant Professor Vincent Gan at vincent.gan@nus.edu.sg.
