We are seeking a highly motivated and interdisciplinary researcher to advance the development of integrated sensor arrays through innovative materials design and validation techniques. This role supports NTU’s strategic direction in cutting-edge sensor research by contributing to the development of high-performance, multimodal sensor systems with strong application potential in digital healthcare, robotics, and smart environments. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team driving transformative sensing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize fabrication processes for sensor arrays based on 2D materials (e.g., graphene, MoS₂), including flexible and suspended platforms.
  • Integrate 2D materials onto diverse substrates using clean, crack-free, and scalable transfer techniques (e.g., dry/wet transfer, automated robotic systems).
  • Characterize sensor devices via micro-Raman, SEM/TEM, electrical probing, and spectroscopic methods.
  • Contribute to the validation and calibration of multimodal sensing techniques in collaboration with materials and data scientists.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to high-quality scientific publications and conference presentations.
  • Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
  • Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  • Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.

Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Nanoscience, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in graphene and 2D material synthesis, transfer, and integration at wafer scale.
  • Skilled in device fabrication techniques such as e-beam lithography, photolithography, ALD, and plasma etching.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and fabricate device prototypes for innovative applications.
  • Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
  • Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
