Research Fellow (Food Science & Technology)

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Dr Lu Yuyun on Microalgae biomass/protein processing and novel food development under a project on Alternative Protein funded by SFA.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Lab-related experiments (e.g., mechanical and enzymatic treatments, fermentation, prototype samples formulation, interaction of proteins and flavour compounds)
  • Analysis of collected data
  • Progress report preparation
  • Manuscripts preparation
  • Provide mentorship
  • Grant proposal writing

Qualifications

  • PhD Degree
  • Food science background
  • Having microalgae (biomass/protein) processing background is preferred
  • Having microorganism fermentation background is preferred
  • Having good analytical skill
  • Having good scientific writing skill
  • Having good leadership
  • Having good organization and time management skill
