Research Fellow (Houlden Fellow)
About the Role
The Finance Group are recruiting for one ‘WBS Houlden Fellow’ post to start as soon as possible. The position is fixed term for a period of 36 months.
The Finance Group is responsible for a wide variety of courses on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The subjects covered include asset pricing, corporate finance, derivatives and risk management, financial econometrics and international finance. Research in the Group spans several themes within asset pricing and corporate finance at both applied and theoretical levels. We have an active research environment with weekly seminars from leading scholars in the field in addition to informal brown bag lunchtime presentations.

The postholders will divide their time between three areas of activity:
- progressing their own research agenda;
- supporting current WBS research activity; and
- gaining valuable teaching experience.
All Houlden Fellows will benefit from the mentoring of a senior colleague within the Group to help them develop their academic careers over the three-year period. Houlden Fellows have their own budget for research and travel.
About You
Preference may be given to candidates that will complement the existing strengths in the School, and bridge between existing areas of expertise in the School.
PhD Status
If you are near submission of your PhD, or have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made at Research Assistant level, at the highest spinal point of pay grade 5 (£34,610 per annum).
Upon receipt of evidence confirming the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow, at the lowest spinal point of grade 6 (£35,608 per annum).
