Duties and responsibilities
- Conducting scientific research to advance characterisation approaches for natural organic materials, primarily using chromatography, mass spectrometry, and computational tools, with a particular focus on the structural characterisation of biomass, such as lignin-derived compounds.
- Supervising students at all levels.
- Teaching in both Estonian and English.
- Managing the research group’s web pages.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- Eligible candidates must have defended their PhD thesis in analytical chemistry no more than ten years prior to the contract start date and completed at least two years of postdoctoral research at an academic institution outside the country in which their PhD was awarded.
- The candidate must have a demonstrated experimental and publication track record in the analysis of organic materials using chromatography and mass spectrometry, including LC-MS, GC-MS, and high-resolution MS instruments.
- The candidate must have experience in acquiring and analysing non-target LC-MS data using computational tools to propose structural candidates.
- Experience in analysing biomass, such as lignin, is desirable.
- The candidate must have published at least five scientific papers indexed in the Web of Science within the last five years, of which at least three as first or corresponding author.
- The candidate must have experience supervising MSc and PhD students and teaching analytical chemistry courses.
- The candidate must have experience in managing websites.
Required language skills
Fluency in Estonian and English, both written and spoken.
Salary
From 2400 € / per month
