Research Fellow in Quantum Networks

About the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT)

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.
CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore. The Centre also has staff at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. With some 200 staff and students, it offers a friendly and international work environment.

Job Description

We have openings for talented early-career scientists who are ready to take up a leadership role in our group and to spearhead new initiatives and provide supervision and guidance to junior members of the team.

You will be part of a well-funded initiative to create quantum networks using Erbium ions in solid-state and integrated photonics. Your job could include the following subjects:

  • Leading the measurement of quantum memory protocols in integrated photonics in a dilution refrigerator
  • Exploring new physics of ensemble of atoms strongly coupled to integrated photonics resonators
  • Developing new nanofabrication recipes for on-chip quantum networking components
  • Mentoring talented and motivated graduate students

You will also work closely with the PI to develop future experimental goals and shape the general research direction of the group. There will be ample opportunity to explore your own ideas and participate in grant-writing processes. We aim to provide you a challenging and supportive environment to perfect your research leadership skills and get ready for your next career step!

Continuous hiring: The application will be considered upon reception and until filling of the available positions with a flexible starting time from February 2026 to December 2026.
