Research Fellow (Integrated electro-optic modulator)

Job Description

We are looking for a capable and motivated Research Fellow to join our research on integrated photonics. This project aims to develop integrated electro-optic modulators using emerging materials such as lithium niobate, lithium tantalate, and barium titanate.

This position will be hosted by Assistant Professor Di ZHU’s group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Successful candidates will be involved in, but not limited to, the following activities:

  • Design, fabricate, and measure integrated electro-optic modulators
  • Assist in mentoring graduate students
  • Regularly disseminate research results through reports, presentations, and manuscripts

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree (completed or soon to be completed) in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant areas
  • Knowledge in optics and microwave engineering
  • Experience in nano/micro-fabrication is highly desired
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab)
  • Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively
