We are now looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow (PDRA) to join a short, focused research project in maritime transportation and shipping systems. This is a four-month fixed-term appointment under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, offering an opportunity to help shape an innovative research direction with strong potential for follow-on funding.

You will contribute to the development of the conceptual and analytical foundations of a liner shipping model, undertake preliminary analysis, and support the translation of the work into a coherent, competitive research proposal aligned with UKRI and broader international maritime research priorities.

Key responsibilities include: (1) assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of the project, (2) manage research resources, and contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations at project meetings and relevant conferences.

You should possess a good honours degree and a PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in Maritime transportation or Transportation Engineering relevant field. A solid background in liner shipping modelling and resilience modelling of maritime systems is essential. You must demonstrate your research capabilities and ability to disseminate findings through high-quality publications in international journals and referred conferences.

Experience with research projects related to maritime shipping routes modelling, risk assessment, and management is preferred.

You will work with a team of 11 postdoctoral/doctoral researchers in this ERC project on container transport risk, resilience, and sustainability analysis within the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM) at Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
