Job Description
The Centre is looking for a talented and driven Research Fellow to join the research group of Prof. Valerio Scarani (https://www.cqt.sg/groups/valerio-scarani/). The group conducts theoretical research in quantum physics, pivoting to topics that may profit from AI rather than being taken over by it (our current guess on the matter can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/valeriosgroup/ai-charter).
We are specifically looking for a candidate to lead an original research project in a topic of interest for the group. A non-exhaustive list of possible topics includes: the theory of mechanical systems in the quantum regime; quantum phenomena in ultrafast physics; the characterisation and certification of non-classicality; fundamental aspects of quantum theory. Alongside with their CV and two reference letters, the candidates should submit a convincing research plan.
The position is available for 2 years. Starting date: April 2027.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading a research project in theoretical quantum science or information.
- Besides personal research work, this involves coordinating the work of students (Ph.D. and/or undergraduate) working on the topic.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications in a relevant field.
- Proved capacity of working with several co-workers.
- Experience of teaching and/or follow-up of younger students’ projects in a university context.
- Strong communication skills and writing skills.
