Job Description

We are seeking a Research Fellow to join our research team to work with PIs and co-PIs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management. This position’s primary focus is to develop real-time truck-drone collaboration system to enhance Singapore safety and resilience and using learning-based approaches.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collecting and analyzing relevant data.
• Designing mathematical models.
• Developing simulation program.
• Designing optimization or learning-based algorithms.
• Working on research projects, supervising research students, and preparing research proposals and reports.

Job Requirements

• Possess a PhD degree obtained in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines)
• Has strong interest and expertise in mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization or learning-based methods.
• Proficiency in simulation software.
• Programming expertise in at least one language, e.g., Python, Java, or C++
• Strong written and oral communication skills and able to present results clearly.
• Open to fixed-term contract
