Offer Description
Work Plan: The selected candidate will join the team of an exploratory project on chiral luminescent compounds aimed at the preparation of authentication materials. The work plan comprises the preparation and optical characterization of luminescent cellulosic films:
- Preparation of solutions with optimized concentrations for the fabrication of cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) films exhibiting a chiral nematic phase, as well as solutions of chiral fluorophores to promote their self-assembly.
- Preparation of CNC films using conventional techniques (e.g., drop-casting).
- Spectroscopic characterization of the obtained films
Fellowship duration: The fellowship will have a duration of 3 months, with an expected start date in October 2026;
Application deadline and form of application submission: The call for applications is open from September 15th to 28th, 2026.
Documentation to be provided at the time of application: Curriculum Vitae; Certificate of qualifications; Motivation Letter; proof of enrollment in the current academic year or degree registration; proof of enrollment in a bachelor's degree, in a master's degree/integrated master's degree (present the documents proving this situation, at the latest, until the contracting phase of the scholarship, which may be replaced before that by a declaration of honor, which is attached).

Benefits
Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The fellowship amount is €701,12, in accordance with the table of values for fellowships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the country, with payment made monthly via bank transfer.

Selection process
Selection criteria:
The selection methods to be used and their weighting will be as follows:
- Curriculum evaluation - 50%;
- Experience in the research area - 20%.
- Interview - 30%
All applications will be assessed on a scale of 0 to 20.
Final grade=50%×A+20%×B+30%xC
Candidates who do not obtain a minimum mark of 15, as a result of the jury's assessment in accordance with the selection criteria, will not be hired.

Form of advertising/notification of results:
The evaluation results proposed by the juri will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list.
After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or an hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Board through the address coord1@novaidfct.pt.
