Offer Description
The Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Dr. Isabel Capeloa Gil, hereby announces the opening of a call for applications for one Research Fellowship, under the terms of UCP's Regulations on Research Grants, to carry out research activities in the scientific field of Management, Strategy and Marketing at the Católica Lisbon Research Unit in Business and Economics (CUBE), funded by the Center for Responsible Business & Leadership (CRBL)
1. GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- As of the application date, candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree, including an Integrated Master's degree, in Marketing, Economics, Management, or related scientific fields.
- Must be enrolled or provide proof of having fulfilled the requirements for enrolment in, a Non-Degree Awarding Course (CNCG), integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution and developed in association or cooperation with one or more units.
2. SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent written and oral proficiency in Portuguese and English.
- Proactivity, motivation and Independence.
- Good communication skills.
- Collaborative spirit.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to create and manage projects.
- Digital skills specific to Marketing and Communication, including content management tools, social media management and basic design (Canva or other software).
Preferred Requirements
- Interest and experience in Digital Marketing, Communication, social media management and corporate sustainability will be considered an advantage.
3. WORK PLAN
The fellowship holder will join the team of the Center for Responsible Business and Leadership (CRBL), working with Professor Filipa Pires de Almeida and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. In particular, the fellow will support the following key CRBL activities:
- Develop and implement the CRBL communication strategy.
- Prepare communication materials for the Centre's different areas of activity and projects, including, but not limited to, scientific content such as projects, reports, case studies and events.
- Organise events promoted by the CRBL.
- Produce and disseminate newsletters on the CRBL's areas of activity.
- Contribute to the development of presentations.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research in the areas of the Sustainable Development Goals, Corporate Purpose, Responsible Business, Leadership and Strategy for Impact.
- Conduct research and develop case studies for companies in the CRBL's areas of activity.
- Establish contacts with companies with the aim of promoting research.
- Provide support in drafting scientific projects and research proposals.
- Participate in events and seminars to present CRBL projects.
4. APPLICABLE LAW AND REGULATIONS
Law n. 40/2004, of 18 of August (Research Fellowship Holder Statute), altered by Decree-Law n. 123/2019, of 28 of August and UCP Research Fellowship Regulation.
5. WORK PLACE
The place of work is Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Palma de Cima, Lisbon. The work will be carried out under the scientific supervision of Professor Filipa Pires de Almeida.
6. FELLOWSHIP DURATION AND START DATE
The scholarship will be awarded for a period of 12 months on a full-time basis. It is expected to start in November 2026. The scholarship may be renewed up to the maximum period permitted under the applicable regulations. Renewal of the scholarship agreement will depend on the assessment of the scholarship holder's fulfilment of the work plan, fulfilment of the personal requirements for scholarship renewal, and the availability of project funds.
7. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE
The fellowship's maintenance allowance is 1359.64 € per month, in accordance with the table of scholarship amounts awarded directly by FCT, I.P., in Portugal. The allowance will be paid monthly by bank transfer. The fellowship holder will be covered by a personal accident insurance. If not covered by any social protection scheme, the fellowship holder can ensure the right to Social Security through adherence to the Voluntary Social Security scheme, pursuant to "Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social". Provided that the awarded fellowship has a minimum duration of 6 months, the fellowship holder will be entitled to be reimbursed, by UCP, of the charges resulting from the contributions that apply to the first bracket referred to in article 36 of Decree-Law no. 40/89, of 1 February, with the increase in charges arising from the option for the payment of a higher incidence base being paid by the fellow.
8. SELECTION METHOD
The candidates' final classification shall be presented on a Scale of 0 to 20. Candidates will be assessed based on 3 criteria
- A. Academic curriculum assessment (50%)
- B. Experience in the field of work (30%)
- C. Communication skills (20%)
Final Score (0,5 x A) + (0,3 x B) + (0,2 x C)
A minimum score of 15 points is required for a candidate to be considered eligible for the position. If necessary, candidates may be invited for an interview; in this case, the interview will not be scored or weighed in the final classification and will serve solely to clarify the information provided. The selection panel reserves the right not to select any candidate if it considers that none of the candidates has the required profile.

10. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION
Applications must be submitted in Portuguese. The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Motivation letter.
- Curriculum Vitae, including all elements demonstrating fulfilment of the admission requirements, namely any research scholarships previously held, where applicable.
- Proof of enrolment in the required programme or proof of fulfilment of the requirements for enrolment in the aforementioned programme.
- Copy of the certificate of qualifications or diploma, specifying the final grade.
If it is not possible to obtain the certificate or diploma referred to in point 4 by the application deadline, the candidate may replace it with a declaration of honour regarding that degree or diploma, submitted electronically. If the scholarship is awarded, the candidate must send the official certificate or diploma to CUBE before signing the agreement.
11. DEADLINES AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
The required documents must be sent by email to internationalrecruit.clsbe@ucp.pt from 1 to 10 October 2026 (by 5:00 p.m. Lisbon time), with the following subject line: #Application number# - name#. No document that should have been submitted at the application stage may be submitted after the deadline established in this call for applications. Failure to meet the application deadline, as well as failure to submit or late submission of the documents referred to in this section, will result in exclusion from the selection process. False statements by candidates are punishable by law.
12. DELIBERATION AND RELEASE OF RESULTS
The selection panel deliberates in accordance with adopted and disclosed selection criteria. Minutes of panel meetings shall include a summary of the meeting content. After application of the selection criteria, the panel shall prepare a ranked list of approved candidates and respective classification. The ranked list of successful candidates will be published within 90 working days after the application deadline on the CATÓLICA-LISBON website https://www.clsbe.lisboa.ucp.pt/pt-pt/investigacao/posicoes-investigacao, and candidates will be notified by email when the list becomes available. In the 10 working days after the communication of the final decision, the selected candidate must confirm in writing his/her availability to initiate the fellowship on the proposed date. In case of unavailability, the offer will be made to the next candidate in the ranked list.
13. PRIOR HEARING, COMPLAINTS AND APPEALS
In case of unfavorable decision, candidates will have 10 working days after notification to pronounce in a prior hearing, should they wish it, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedures. The final decision may be subject to a complaint within a period of 15 working days or, alternatively, of an appeal within a period of 30 working days, with both durations beginning on the date of the initial notification. The complaint or appeal should be addressed to the Rector's Office (Reitoria) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. After this notification, and in case there are no allegations, the results will become definitive. Ineligible candidates will be notified by email, with details of the missing eligibility elements.
14. PRIVACY POLICY
