Offer Description
Under the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., Regulation No. 950/2019, published in the Diário da República, 2nd Series, No. 241, of 16 December 2019; the Regulation of Research Grants of IPP, Dispatch P.PORTO/P-015/2020, of 18 May; and the Statute of the Research Fellowship (EBI), Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August, published in the Diário da República, 1st Series, No. 164, of 28 August 2019, it is hereby announced that a call is open for the award of two (2) Research Grant within the scope of the project UID/00472/2025, financed by national funds through the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT, I.P.) / MCTES, under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Music, Music Education, or related areas
Work Objectives: Activities related to music projects.
Workplace and Scientific Guidance: The work will be carried out at CIPEM/INET-md, at the premises of the Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Técnica do Porto, under the scientific supervision of Jorge Alexandre Costa (FE/CIPEM/BI/2026/01) e Aoife Hiney (FE/CIPEM/BI/2026/02).
Research Grant Duration: The grant will have an initial duration of 12 months, starting on 1 November 2026, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum duration of 24 months, including the initial period. The grant will be carried out on an exclusive basis, in accordance with the terms of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P.
Benefits: The monthly maintenance allowance is €1,090.98, in accordance with the stipend values published by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, I.P.) for Portugal. Payment will be made monthly by bank transfer.
Other Benefits: Reimbursement of Voluntary Social Security contributions, corresponding to the first level of contributions (for research grants with a total duration of six months or more), and personal accident insurance.
Selection Methods: Curricular evaluation (100%). AC = X × 80% + Y × 20%, where X represents the suitability of the applicant’s curriculum vitae to the area of the competition, and Y represents the originality of the research and/or artistic project.
If necessary, the jury will interview the four best candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must submit the following documents:

- Certificate of qualifications;
- Proof of enrolment in a master’s degree programme or an integrated master’s degree programme;
- Summary (maximum 350 words) of an original research project and/or artistic project developed as part of the bachelor’s degree;
- Declaration of honour stating that:
- a) The applicant has read and understood the P.PORTO Research Grant Regulations (P.PORTO/P-001/2020), approved by Order P.PORTO-P-015-2020, and undertakes to comply with them;
- b) Upon entering into the grant agreement in question, the applicant will not exceed a cumulative period of two (2) years under this type of grant, whether consecutive or non-consecutive;
- Other documents that the applicant considers relevant.

Additional Information
The evaluation results will be announced by email notification to the applicants. Following the announcement of the results, applicants will be deemed automatically notified and, if they so wish, may comment on the results during the preliminary hearing period, within 10 days of the notification date.
Once the selection process has been completed, the fellowship agreement will be drawn up in accordance with the draft agreement provided by the FCT.
At the end of the fellowship period, the fellowship holder and the supervisor must prepare a final report in accordance with the applicable assessment criteria.
