The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology wishes to recruit a new Research Group Leader (6-year Tenure Track) to the Division of Structural Studies.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scientist with innovative ideas to address long-term fundamental biological questions through the study of macromolecular structure at the molecular and/or cellular scales. Areas of interest include biology-focussed research and/or methods development, using experimental and/or computational approaches, on topics that complement and synergise with existing strengths in the Division.
You will hold a PhD and understand the value of developing your highly original, independent line of research from within a world-leading core-funded laboratory with a uniquely collaborative and collegial environment. We offer generous funding to tenured and tenure-track group leaders, including for start-up, consumables, equipment and staff. We also offer free access to our well-supported in-house facilities, which include electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray crystallography, light microscopy, mass spectrometry, biophysics, cell sorting, cell culture, high-performance computing, and electronic and mechanical workshops.
The LMB has a collaborative working culture and state-of-the-art building on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. We have on-site parking, cycle enclosures and excellent public transport links to the site.
