Position Highlights: The Department of Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is dedicated to advancing innovative approaches to understand, prevent, and treat neurological disorders. We invite applications for a Research Instructor faculty position with a focus in neuro-oncology. This non-tenure eligible position is ideal for a motivated and collaborative physician-scientist with a strong interest in translational or clinical research relevant to primary or metastatic tumors of the nervous system. The successful candidate will engage in research aimed at advancing the understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of central or peripheral nervous system tumors. This includes, but is not limited to, gliomas, CNS lymphomas, brain metastases, and neurologic complications of cancer therapy. The Research Instructor will work under the mentorship of senior investigators and contribute to grant-funded research programs while developing independent lines of investigation. Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct and publish research in the field of neuro-oncology. Participate in collaborative research projects with faculty across neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, radiology, and other departments. Assist in grant writing and preparation of funding applications. Contribute to the mentoring and training of students, residents, or postdoctoral fellows, as appropriate. Present research findings at scientific meetings and departmental seminars. Support efforts to expand neuro-oncology research initiatives within the Department of Neurology and the larger academic health center.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications: MD or MD/PhD degree in neurology, oncology, neuro-oncology, or a related field. Demonstrated research experience in neuro-oncology or cancer neuroscience. Record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in translational or clinical neuro-oncology research. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Experience with grant writing or prior extramural funding (e.g., NIH, foundations).
